Wade Fights Back
Thursday, June 4, 2009 After hearing all the false accusations that intended to damage his image, Dwyane Wade is finally suing his ex-business partner Richard von Houtman for $100 million dollars. Wade and von Houtman had a few ventures together, including a project for restaurant chain called "D Wade's Sports Grill", that failed to develop. Two restaurants opened and closed in less than a year.
Not only did von Houtman claim that Wade was responsible for the failure of the business, but he alleged that Wade's had personal problems, drug problems, and steroid use that contributed to it. In several occassions, he even contacted Heat President Pat Riley and put out press statements to further damage Dwyane's reputation.
Of course that all those accusations were false. I send my best wishes for Wade to win the lawsuit. There are lots of people out there that try to take advantage of athletes. To be honest, having a brand like Wade is the best thing that could have happened to that guy, and if he did not know how to develop it and blew his chance, he should be the one paying the consequences. To go as far and low as to try to damage the reputation of someone like Wade shows that he has no business ethics or morals and that is probably what led to the failure of the business as well.
