I admit the LeBron James "Decision" Special was awkward and unnecessary. He could have done an interview for ESPN just like Wade and Bosh did the day before. But that is not why people are angry. If he had stayed in Cleveland, nobody would complain. If he had gone to New York, everyone would be hating on the Knicks, but perhaps not as much. People hate the trio.

Nobody wants to acknowledge that the Miami Heat is a force to be reckoned with in the NBA. Even when we won the Championship people had something negative to say. "Our Championship is not worth as much as the Lakers 2010 Championship." Bullshit.

Dan Gilbert's letter was embarrassing, coming from an NBA owner. Not even Mark Cuban would have the nerve to say those things, or even guarantee stuff that is obviously not going to happen. And I'm not saying Miami is guaranteed to win now, but I know Cleveland will definitely not win anything. They could not win anything with a player that averaged 30 points and pretty much a triple-double over 7 seasons. They had chances to surround him with talent and never did. Is it really so shocking that he was ready to move on?

Yes, LeBron's publicity team screwed up. He did not handle this the way he should have, but then again everything about this situation was unprecedented. People make mistakes. Truth is that his legacy was not ruined. People will remember that he left, but if he starts winning Championships in Miami nobody will care. His image, endorsements, revenue will not be damaged. He will be bigger than ever. And he now has teammates that can help him achieve what he could not in Cleveland. It will be tough, but he already has a better team around him, even considering Miami has lots of holes to fill.

I hope people get over it and start thinking about how much fun this team will be to watch. At the end of the day, we all want to win but we also want to watch great basketball. The Heat will definitely be putting on a show come November, and hopefully it will last until June.

I have to say I was worried about all the speculation with Chicago, but I believed in Wade too much. This is his house! Pat Riley and the Heat did everything possible to bring him the Championship Team he wanted, so I'm happy that things worked up.

Next up? The LeBron James decision comes tomorrow. Will he join Wade and Bosh? Possibly. Regardless of that, the Heat have to fill the roster with some good bench players, great defense and shot-makers.

Let's see what happens tomorrow and the next few days, but Miami already has many reasons to celebrate!

Everyone has their own opinion. Where is Wade going? What is happening with LeBron, and Bosh, and Stoudemire, and everyone else?

Well, I have the feeling that the shake up may not be as dramatic as it could be. I think for starters, Wade and LeBron will stay where they are. The two best players will not leave their teams.

Wade has a great setup in Miami. This is his home. He owns the AAA. He can make a lot more money here than anywhere else. Most importantly, Pat Riley will build a contender around him. There is cap space, options, talent, and optimism.

LeBron on the other hand has a team with a mediocre supporting cast, no money, no draft picks, and a lot of frustration. But considering his options, where would he go? Chicago could be the best destination to build a contender, but it is clear that LeBron wants to build his own legacy and not walk behind Michael Jordan's shadow. Proof of that is that he will no longer wear the number 23 on his jersey next season. New York and New Jersey (or Brooklyn) offer him a lot of money and the possibility of the biggest stage of them all, but those teams are far away from a Championship even with LeBron, and he has proven that he can get the endorsements and attention even at Cleveland, so he does not need New York for that.

To be quite honest, Miami seems like the best option for LeBron. I know it's very convenient for me to say this, but it's the truth. Even though he would make less money than in Cleveland and the same than in New York and New Jersey in principle, Florida has no state income tax so that will give him a big boost. The weather is also the best. The city is beautiful. Most importantly, he can play with Wade and have Pat Riley as his coach. Not bad.

I could write about this for hours, everyday, and so can every NBA fan. We all want to know what is going to happen, but we have to wait until July to find out. In the meantime we created our own little Facebook fan page for Wade to stay in Miami and I would love if you join us by clicking here.

If Wade stays the possibilities are endless. LeBron would be the jackpot, but just pairing Wade with someone like Bosh, Stoudemire, Boozer would be huge. And if we're lucky we can get Rudy Gay, David Lee or someone else who can step into the court and make a huge difference. 2010-2011 could be a great year for Heat fans. We have to wait a bit longer but I have the feeling it will be worth it.

Running to Boston

I apologize once again for the lack of posting. I think I have to change the blogs name to Heat Monthly. Anyhow, I have been busy and there wasn't much to say other than compliments for our team. They found their groove at the right time. It doesn't matter why it happened or against who they won, what matters is that Miami proved that it has the foundation to become a contender. We are just missing one piece, and hopefully we'll get it this Summer.

But before we talk about the Summer, let's talk about the Playoffs. Everyone is saying that the Heat - Celtics matchup will be a lot of fun, and that the series will be very competitive. However, most analysts still project the Celtics as the winners in 5, 6 or 7 games. The factors are home court advantage, experience, depth and defense. As good as Miami's defense is, Boston defense is also great. Their offense is a bit better than ours. They have several players who can have big nights, like Garnett, Rondo, Pierce, Sheed and Allen. We have Wade and the occasional big night by Jermaine O'Neal and Michael Beasley. We know Haslem will be solid. QRich can also have one or two great games. But will that be enough?

I don't want to be negative, but it will be tough. Truth to be told, we are not expecting a Championship anyhow. I think these guys are just enjoying this as much as they can. This was a great end of season run and it gave them confidence and united the team. Pat Riley needs these guys to be united and motivated because he will have to resign many of them, particularly Dwyane Wade, and make sure he attracts someone else like Bosh, Stoudemire or Boozer. The only way that is going to happen if they see a team that surrounds Wade with a great supporting cast, with great team chemistry, with the strong belief that they can go all the way next season.

In the meantime, I can't wait for the Playoffs to begin. Truth is, basketball can be unexpected and Miami winning against the Celtics would not be such a major upset. The Celtics are not the same team they were two years ago. Dwyane Wade is on a mission again. And I really believe that Michael Beasley could be the Wild Card. If this kid gets focused and breaks out of the shell now, this team can win. And Beasley can dedicate his succcess to the doubters, the haters, and the ones who've lost faith. I would be extremely happy if we see a B-Easy that averages 20 points in this series. Tough, but he can do it and that is what would allow Miami to keep surprising everyone. These guys are motivated. I'm pretty sure Wade thinks we can win! Go Heat!

The Heat are showing signs of life after a very inconsistent season. If everything works out Coach Spo will improve the regular season record in his second season as Head Coach. So everything is fine and dandy because it's all about the Summer. This Summer and the Free Agent class of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Joe Johnson, Carlos Boozer, Amare Stoudemire, and many other talented players.

This post is about analyzing who I think would be great additions to the team, and I'm going for the realistic additions in terms of real chances and salary cap. We can't get LeBron and Bosh and keep Wade because there is not enough money for everyone, but also because I doubt that LeBron would come to Miami. As much as Wade and James would love to play together, I don't think that will happen.

So here we go:

- Chris Bosh: We know that is very likely he will leave Toronto and he wants to win. Playing alongside Dwyane Wade would be a good start, and he would me my #1 pick.

- Amare Stoudemire: Also a big fan of Miami and expressed interested in playing with the Heat. I'm worried about potential injuries but if he stays healthy he could be an incredible combo with Wade.

- Carlos Boozer: I'll be honest and say that Boozer is my least favorite of these top 3, but he would still be great with the Heat. If we can't get Bosh and Stoudemire I would definitely try to get him, who also expressed interest in Miami (don't tell him that I picked him last! :).

Those are the top choices. The ones that would get a huge contract and would help us be a Championship team overnight. But there are other free agents. Great players who are solid and can contribute with skills and experience. They don't get the max contract so could be great additions to whatever money we have left and a mid-level exception too.

- Ray Allen: He is getting old, but he can still shoot the ball and be very dangerous. I wouldn't mind having him coming off the bench.

- David Lee: We need a center. This is a solid, aggressive, All-Star caliber center and would be ideal to have him. Not sure if we can afford both Bosh and Lee, but it would be great.

- Marcus Camby: He is also old, but he continues to be one of the best defenders and rebounders of the league. Considering Coach Spo and Riley's mentality regarding Centers, would be a great addition to have Camby.

- Manu Ginobilli: I doubt that he will leave the Spurs, but he still doesn't have a new contract. He is also past his prime, but he has showed now that he is healthy and he can drop 30 points on your head any day of the week. He was also the 6th Man of the Year a couple of seasons ago, so he doesn't mind working hard and coming off the bench after Wade. Or he could also play alongside Wade as both of them are good ball handlers and distributors. Oh and he has 3 rings. Not bad.

Two other players I would love to have are Rudy Gay and Luis Scola, but they are both RESTRICTED Free Agents, so it's not easy as their teams will do everything they can to keep them.

Am I forgetting someone? What do you guys think? Who should we add or remove from the list?

Will the Real Beasley Please Stand Up?

March Madness brings back memories. A couple of years ago in March, Heat fans couldn't wait for the season to be over, but we all were looking forward to the Draft and the possibility of getting Michael Beasley, who was rocking Kansas State with 26 points and 12 rebounds per game.

We didn't get the #1 pick, but we got our wish with the #2 pick. Even though Derrick Rose gained momentum towards the draft and would have been an ideal pick for a Miami team in need of a point guard, we were all excited about Beasley and having someone who could score and compliment Wade in the offensive end. Then when we got Chalmers and saw that he 'seemed like a steal', we were set.

Fast forward to today and neither one of these players became what we were hoping. They are still young and full and showing promise, particularly Michael Beasley, but after two seasons averaging just 14.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, poor defense and being consistently inconsistent, what can we expect? How much better will he get? Can he go back to averaging 26 and 12? Can he become a 20-10 player? Can he get better on defense? Can he make better decisions on and off the court?

It's clear that Beasley has talent. He has had a few spectacular games that show he can play. But very few of those and many games where he is 2 for 10 from the floor and making bad decisions. He also started this season showing signs of improvement, increasing his average numbers during the first few months, only to drop those average significantly during the past couple of months. He is starting now in place of Udonis Haslem, but who contributes more? Haslem continues to be a more solid contributor off the bench, especially rebounding and defense.

I'm still a fan of Michael Beasley and hope he finds his way. Nothing would make me happier than him winning the Most Improved Award next season. I'm on Pat Riley's side about not trading him, but I also hope he can get it together. He is only 21, so everything indicates that he will. The question is when, and we all hope that he can once again dominate like he did in College.
